TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Last updated: August 2026

1. General

These terms and conditions apply to all orders, requests, and commissions at Studio Anne Laura. By placing an order or agreeing to a commission, the client agrees to these terms.

Company details:

Studio Anne Laura

Email address: studio.annelauradijkshoorn@gmail.com

2. Custom paintings

A custom painting is designed and created specifically for the client. Prior to starting, the desired size, colors, style, and mood board are discussed.

The commission becomes final once the client has approved the mood board and the 25% deposit has been received. The remaining amount must be paid before shipping or delivery.

The deposit is non-refundable in the event of cancellation, as the design, mood board, preparation, and any purchased materials are created or acquired specifically for the client.

The stated turnaround time is an indication. The exact delivery time depends on the size, drying time, complexity, and availability of materials. A minor delay does not automatically entitle the client to compensation or cancellation.

3. Personalized line art

Personalized line art is created based on photos, names, texts, and other personal wishes provided by the client.

The client is responsible for providing clear and usable photos and for verifying names, dates, and other details.

When a digital proof is provided in advance, the client is responsible for carefully checking and approving it. Errors approved by the client during this check cannot be corrected free of charge after production or will be at the client's own expense.

4. Creative freedom and variations

All works are created by hand or digitally in the signature style of Studio Anne Laura. The client allows Studio Anne Laura creative freedom within the discussed preferences.

In reality, colors may vary slightly from how they appear on a phone, tablet, or computer screen. In handmade paintings, slight differences, textures, and irregularities may occur. These are part of the handmade character of the work and are not automatically considered defects.

5. Available work

An existing painting from the 'Available work' collection is not a personalized product.

When purchasing a non-personalized work online, a consumer generally has a 14-day cooling-off period starting from the day after receipt. The consumer must notify the studio of their intent to cancel the purchase within this period.

The work must then be returned carefully, undamaged, and, if reasonably possible, in its original packaging. The costs of the return shipment are borne by the client. The client is responsible for any reduction in value resulting from use or handling beyond what was necessary to inspect the work.

6. No right of withdrawal for personalized work

Custom paintings and personalized line art are created according to the client’s personal choices and specifications.

Pursuant to Article 6:230p of the Dutch Civil Code, there is no statutory right of withdrawal for these personalized products. These products cannot, therefore, be returned or exchanged due to regret, a change of taste, or a choice communicated incorrectly.

This does not affect the legal rights of the client if a product is delivered damaged or does not comply with what was agreed.

7. Prices and payment

All stated prices include VAT unless stated otherwise. Any shipping or delivery costs will be clearly indicated before finalizing the order or commission.

Orders via the webshop are paid using one of the offered payment methods.

For custom commissions, the payment terms specified in the quote, commission confirmation, or correspondence apply. If payment is not received on time, Studio Anne Laura may suspend execution or delivery until payment is received.

8. Delivery and shipping

Orders are delivered to the address provided by the client during the ordering process. The client is responsible for verifying the address details.

Studio Anne Laura packs every work as carefully as possible. If a package is visibly damaged upon receipt, the client must take photos of the work, the packaging, and the shipping label as soon as possible and contact Studio Anne Laura.

The risk of shipment to a consumer remains with Studio Anne Laura until the order has been received by the client or a recipient designated by the client.

9. Complaints and damage

Complaints or damage must be reported clearly and completely via studio.annelauradijkshoorn@gmail.com as soon as possible after discovery.

Please include the order number or the name under which the commission was placed and, where relevant, send clear photos.

Studio Anne Laura will assess the complaint and look for a suitable solution within legal possibilities. A complaint will be answered within 14 days at the latest. If more time is required, the client will receive an acknowledgment of receipt within this period with an indication of the expected processing time.

10. Copyright and usage

Copyright and all other intellectual property rights to paintings, line art, designs, sketches, and images remain with Studio Anne Laura, even after the physical or digital work has been delivered to the client.

The purchase gives the client the right to use the work for personal purposes only. Without prior written consent, it is not permitted to copy, sell, use commercially, use as a logo, have printed on products, or reproduce the work in any other way.

Studio Anne Laura may use photos and videos of created works for the website, social media, portfolio, and promotion. Personal data or recognizable private photos will not be made public without permission. If the client does not wish for the final work to be shared, this must be stated in advance.

11. Material provided by the client

The client declares to have permission to use provided texts, logos, and other materials for the commission.

If the provided material is subject to the rights of others, the client is responsible for obtaining the necessary permission. Studio Anne Laura may refuse a commission if the provided material potentially infringes on the rights of third parties or is otherwise inappropriate or unlawful.

12. Liability

Studio Anne Laura is not liable for damage resulting from improper use, incorrect hanging, insufficient maintenance, or placement of a work in unsuitable conditions, such as prolonged direct sunlight or a very humid room.

The liability of Studio Anne Laura is, to the extent legally permitted, limited to the amount of the relevant order or commission.

This limitation does not apply if the damage is the result of intent or willful recklessness on the part of Studio Anne Laura and does not limit any rights a consumer has by law.

13. Force majeure

In the event of force majeure, Studio Anne Laura is not liable for delays or the temporary inability to execute a commission. Force majeure includes, among other things, illness, fire, transport problems, malfunctions, material shortages, and other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Studio Anne Laura.

Studio Anne Laura will notify the client of this as soon as possible and, if necessary, discuss a new schedule or a suitable solution.

14. Personal data

Personal data is processed in accordance with applicable privacy legislation and the privacy policy on Studio Anne Laura's website.

15. Applicable law

Dutch law applies to all agreements with Studio Anne Laura.

In the event of a dispute, Studio Anne Laura and the client will first try to reach a solution together. If this is not successful, the dispute may be submitted to the competent court in accordance with legal rules.
